On 17th December 2023, Hon John Mulimba, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs/Regional Affairs  led Uganda's delegation at the 10th High level seminar on Peace and Security under the theme "Assisting  African Members on the UN Security Council in Preparing to address Peace and Security issues on the  continent" from 17- 18 December 2023 in Oran, Algeria.

At the invitation of His Excellency Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, undertook a four-day State Visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria from 11th -14th March 2023

His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was received by his host H.E. Abelmadjid Tebboune at El Mouradia Palace with ceremonial honours. President Museveni was accompanied by Ministers and other Senior Government Officials.

The meeting discussed ways of strengthening and developing cooperation between the two countries in trade.

African Nations Championship (CHAN) Tournament was hosted by Algeria, Uganda team was received in Annaba city where Uganda National team was playing in Group B that included DRC Congo, Ivory Coast and Senegal   from 11TH -22ndJanuary 2023 .

Uganda team was the first on the table in the group before playing their last match in Mandela Stadium Baraki Stadium in Algiers where they were competed out of the game against Ivory coast.

The Embassies of the African States accredited in Algeria held a meeting at the Uganda official residence. H.E John Chrysostom Alintuma Nsambu, the regional Dean of the East Africa group, hosted breakfast meeting on Thursday,17 November 2022 from 10h15 to 11h45.

The meeting attracted over 20 Ambassadors and honory consul representatives of some Embassies. The purpose of the meeting was to prepare for African day 2023 and come out with concrete plan for consideration on activities and programme for the event ahead.

On 17 June 2022, PresidentYoweri Kaguta Museveni held discussions with the Algerian Special Envoy, H.ERamtane Lamamra in Rwakitura. The envoy is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs.The meeting was attended by the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda,Hon. John Mulimba and the two amabassadors in the two respective capitals.
